Warren, OH - Lillian Saturnina Cesta Hinkson passed peacefully on Tuesday evening April 16, 2024 surrounded by beloved family. Born on April 11, 1941 in Collelongo, Italy to parents Saturnino and Annunziata Cesta, Lillian came to America with her mother at age 13, joining her brothers in Warren, Ohio. In 1963 Lillian and her late husband, John Hinkson, were married in Warren where they raised their 2 children.

Lillian graduated from Warren G. Harding High School and received her associates degree from Kent State University. Lillian worked at St. Joseph’s Hospital and Warren Plaza Beauty Salon. Lillian taught cosmetology at Warren G. Harding until she retired after 21 years always loving and keeping in touch with many of her students over the years.

Lillian was passionate about politics, religion and family. She was awarded the Trumbull County Republican Woman of the Year in 2012. As a member of Blessed Sacrament, Lillian volunteered as a eucharistic minister in neighboring nursing homes. She reached out to many friends and family, raising monetary contributions to build 13 homes for families in Haiti and Guatemala through Food for the Poor. Lillian also volunteered as an usher for the Warren Civic Music Association.

Lillian especially enjoyed Friday dinners with her girlfriends, played bocce with her team at the ITAM and faithfully watched EWTN. A wonderful cook and true fashionista. Lillian’s love and devotion to family filled her thoughts, heart and prayers at all times. Her grandchildren were her everything.

Preceded in death by her husband, John Hinkson; brother, Harvey (Anna) Cesta; brother, Vernon (Rose) Cesta; sister, Lilianna Cesta; brother-in-laws, Arnold (Bonnie) Hinkson and brother-in-law, Phil Barto.

Lillian is survived by her daughter, Maria (Bill) Phillips Jr. of Naples; son, John Michael (Kim) Hinkson of Bonita Springs, and her grandsons: Gianni Hinkson, Billy (Hannah) Phillips III, Caelan (Morgan) Phillips and Jacen Hinkson; sister-in-law, Beverly Barto and several nieces and nephews.

Calling Hours and Service were held for Lillian last week. Arrangements were handled by the Peter Rossi & Son Memorial Chapel 1884 North Rd. NE, Warren, Ohio..

The family would like to express their gratitude to Dr. Kapil Kwatra, Kim Ray and Melinda Chapin for years of care, and the nurses and aides at Shepherd of the Valley and Traditions Hospice.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Blessed Sacrament Church, 3020 Reeves Rd. Warren, St. Jude’s, Food for the Poor and EWTN.
