1. Saturday: Everglades City celebrates Tamiami Trail, museum

Anniversary celebration and museum birthday from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m., Saturday, April 27, at the

Museum of the Everglades, 105 W. Broadway, Everglades City.

Antique cars, laundry cart races, birthday cake and hot dogs, live music, story-telling by old-timers. Admission is free.

2. Noontime presents the 14th Annual Spirit Awards

The Rotary Club of Marco Island Noontime presents the 14th Annual Spirit Awards of Marco Island Great Gatsby Gala.

The event will be held at the Island Country Club at 5 p.m., Saturday, April 27. Enjoy live entertainment and dancing, dining, awards and more. 

Join the Great Gatsby spirit and dress in Roaring 20s or cocktail attire. The individuals and organizations that are being honored for their exceptional contributions to the community are the Marco Island Historical Society, Jennifer and Derek Tenney, the YMCA of Collier County and Mike Stanczak.

3. This weekend: ‘Southern Gothic Novel’ at Arts Center Theatre

Naples actor Frank Blocker wrote and performs in his one-man show  “Southern Gothic Novel."

Marco Island Center for the Arts coming to the Arts Center Theatre on Saturday, April 27: “Southern Gothic Novel” by Frank Blocker – A darkly comedic tale of crime and love through a solo portrayal of 17 different characters.

Blocker unfolds a gripping narrative set in a secretive Mississippi town, guaranteed to keep you on the edge of your seat.
