‘Watts for Dinner’: Paradise Seafood & Gourmet Market – great products and fresh seafood

Our next dining destination is Paradise Seafood & Gourmet Market on Marco Island. This is obviously a great place to get fresh Gulf seafood, which is delivered daily six-days a week (the store is closed on Sunday). But Paradise is also home to some unique food products  you likely won’t find at Publix, like pre-packaged spicy grouper dip, pheasant and rosemary pate, marinated sheep and goat cheese, rendered duck fat, raw chopped sea clams, pickled ginger, a roasted half duck and mustard from the Lusty Monk.

There’s also assorted gourmet cheeses, crackers, soups and desserts. There are just so many gourmet foods to browse in the market! There are also freshly house-made salads. We took home the Divina, giant white beans ($11.99 lb.), house made shrimp salad ($19.99 lb.), some pre-packaged pimento cheese from Home Grown, some cheese -flavored Carr’s Melts Crackers and some pre-packaged snickerdoodle cookies from Yoder’s Baking Company.

We took the pimento cheese, crackers Divina, prepared in oil with some seasoning and other ingredients,   and shrimp salad and added it to some mixed greens and sliced avocado we had at home. It made a beautiful plate (see photo). The shrimp salad was amazing, perhaps the best I’ve ever had. I highly recommend it. The cheese was amazing and far better than what you might get at a traditional grocery store. A really great meal!

We kept the cookies refrigerated, like they were at the store, until we were ready for them. Instead of taking them out and allowing them to reach room temp, we put them in our toaster oven for a few minutes. They became gooey, delicious treats that tasted like we had just made them. They also make the house smell amazing.

Speaking of desserts, I regret not but the Key Lime cheese tort. I guess I have to go back soon.

Our first visit to this establishment was June 2022. We left with some crab cakes. They come from the display case, made in house, and with the instructions to sauté for two to three minutes. We did! And they results were both beautiful and heavenly to taste.

We also purchased some lobster salad. The rolls were complimentary, as well as a couple of fresh lemons. This was the best dish of the night. I highly recommend this salad.

We also took home another star of the night, a shrimp and scallop tortellini salad. Beautiful, large Gulf shrimp, bite sized multi-colored pastas and the perfect blend to compliment. You can also buy the shrimp as peel and eat.

Paradise Seafood & Gourmet Market has friendly and efficient service, great products and fresh seafood. Happy shopping and happy eating!
